The famous "Ardagh" Kennels
The property of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. WHITWELL
The exceptionally high standard of these justly-famed gun dog kennels attained in the past two or three years has been fully maintained during 1926, in fact considerably enhanced, replete as they are with such high class representatives, particulars of which we have the pleasure to here append. Good wine needs no bush, and the outstanding performances of Mr. and Mrs. Whitwell’s excellent team may well be taken in confirmation thereof.
From 1923 to 1926 some 40 championships and over 1,000 1sts, cups and specials have been secured, of which nine Championships, nine Reserve Championships, sixty-seven 1sts, twenty-six 2nds, thirteen 3rds, and numerous cups and specials, have been acquired at the only nine Championship Shows where this kennel has been represented during 1926. These honours have been won by seventeen individual dogs and bitches, further proof of the great quality of the "Ardagh" kennels all through.

ENGLISH SETTERS
Pennine Patron
In Pennine Patron, a coming full Champion, we meet a great young dog, who may safely be tabulated as one of the best ever.
-
Born: 20th February, 1924
-
Stamboom: He is by Mallwyd Roy ex Misty of Coity.
-
Prestaties: He has won three Championships, seventy-two 1sts, many times best in show, and a large number of cups and specials. On his debut as a puppy at Cardiff, 1925, he annexed some seven 1sts, mostly in varieties, and carried on at various shows to acquire his present record of successes. When fully matured his great career commenced at the Scottish K.C. Show last year, where he won five 1sts, Championship, Gold Medal Best Setter in the Show, and the Duke of Atholl trophy for the best Gun dog, beating seven Champions of other breeds, eventually finishing 4th in the Championship winners class, beating over 50 eligible competing.
This he followed up by winning at Liverpool this year two 1sts and Challenge Certificate, and at Richmond Championship Show, when only entered in one class he took 1st and Challenge Certificate. This temporarily finished his bench career, being then placed in the trainers' hand for field work.
Fury of Ardagh
Fury of Ardagh, born 27th February, 1924, by Champion Crossfell, ex Mistry of Coity, is half-brother to Patron, and a winner at Cruft's, Liverpool, Cardiff and Darlington Championship fixtures in 1926. She has been for most of this season in the hands of the trainer who feels assured of her success in the field. She is by many good judges considered to be a second Primley Letty.
Primley Letty
Primley Letty, by Primley Plato, ex Primley Pamela, is so well and favourably known, that little need by said of her, excepting that she is one of the most charming and greatest bitches of all times, and has won more Championships than any of her sex in the breed.
Patricia of Ardagh
Patricia of Ardagh, born 15th April, 1924, is by Veracity of Bobbing, ex Stylish Bowdy.
